12 Field Regiment memorial service DPR/TV/1033
Description
In a simple ceremony at the 12th Field Regiment's base at Nui Dat, Australian and New Zealand gunners remembered their members who had been killed in action during the Regiment's tour of duty in Vietnam. After a short address by the Commanding Officer of the Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel John Kelly, the Deputy Commander of the Australian Task Force Colonel Ken McKenzie unveiled a plaque honouring the dead. Three Army Chaplains led the troops in prayer and then dedicated the plaque. Last Post was played, the flag was lowered and the Regiment honoured their mates who would not be returning to Australian with them this month. (Also identified: RSM Les Partridge of Adelaide, SA; Bombardier Andrew Forsdike of Bankstown, NSW.)
