Original caption: "A real motley crew at Stok Sann, a ? base near the edge of the Cardamom mountains in western Cambodia. From left: McBeth, NBC correspondent; Neil Davis, KDNLF military commander Gen Dien Det, Al Dawson, and ? veteran correspondent Paul Vogle. Davis and Vogle nearly died of exhaustion on this trip, wihich involved a tortuous almost perpendicular climb; Davis' problem was malaria, Volge's old age. December 1979."
