Description
Original 8 page letter dated 5 December 1916 written by 3816 Private Harrop Landon (junior) of the 46th Battalion, to his cousin Marion Edith Landon. The letter describes his service with the 46th Battalion Australian Imperial Force in Egypt, France on the Somme, and on leave in England after being wounded and while recovering at the Seely Red Hospital, Gatcombe House, Newport, Isle of Wight, Dorset England, during the First World war, 1914-18. Private Landon was Killed in Action on 1 October 1917.
