Albums, Lieutenant Jack Riverstone Faviell
Description
Album of 50 pages (including inside covers) containing 222 photographs covering the service of Second Lieutenant (later Lieutenant) Jack Riverstone Faviell, Australian Flying Corps. The images are decoratively presented and cover a range of his experiences during training and operational flying. Many personalities are named and captions are frequently descriptive and humorous. Topics include training, sports, recreation activities, group portaits and embarkation. A public accountant of Sydney, NSW, prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Shropshire (A9) on 11 May 1917. He was promoted to lieutenant in March 1919 and returned to Australia on 8 October 1919. He served with the RAAF during the Second World War.
