Burton, Colin John Combe (Sapper, b.1897 - d.1974)
Description
Photocopied diary of Sapper Burton for the period 1917-1919. The diary details the journey from Australia to England, working with A Company, No. 1 Section, Engineers Training Camp in Essex, his time on the Western Front in France and Belgium, and his journey home. The diary contains sketches of the engineering work Burton was involved and detailed information on that work. The diary also contains small essays on the countries he visited on the journeys to and from England.
