For valour
This kinescope recording of the 'For valour' television documentary on the four Victoria Cross (VC) recipients from the Vietnam war. The documentary tells the story of the actions for which Major Peter Badcoe, Warrant Officer (WO) Kevin Wheatley, WO Keith Payne and WO Ray Simpson were awarded the Victoria Cross. The film uses actors to portray theses men in re-enactments that were done with the assistance of members of 7 RAR. Also includes interviews with Mrs Denise Leonhardt formerly Mrs Badcoe and her family, Mrs Edna Wheatley and her family, WO Payne VC, Major W J Bryden and Lieutenant-General Mervyn Francis Brogan. Mr John Gorton who was Prime Minister at the time reads on camera the congratulatory telegram he sent to WO Payne VC. The film also contains short promotional sequences narrated on camera by John Tingle, on the nature and work of the Returned Services League (RSL).
