Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 34298 Bombardier William Rawson Leach, 8th Field Artillery Brigade. Collection consists of letters to his family describing life at Lark Hill and active service with a gun crew and work at an ammunition dump. Comments on life in dug-outs, reputation of AIF, conscription, censorship, German offensives, arrival of American forces, August offensive and armistice, and post war work with an engineering firm in Aberdeen.
