Description
All at sea in the Senior Service: the light-hearted memoirs of an ex-stoker' is the story of Stoker Searle's war service with the RAN. The memoirs detail his enlistment and training, his family's reaction to his enlistment, the living condition on board a landing ship, the constant bad food, being attached to US 7th Amphibious Fleet, being attacked by the Japanese, aircrafts, the ship having a pig 'Denise' as a mascot, carrying occupation troops to Ambon, Rabual and Japan, and carrying other troops home to Australia.
