Studio portrait of 4999 Sergeant Major Guy Hamilton Cotter of East St Kilda, Victoria. A member of D Company, 23rd Battalion, he was killed by a shell at Bullecourt, France on 3 May 1917 when the battalion attacked and broke the Hindenburg Line.
