Morotai, New Guinea. 1945. Portrait of Group Captain Clive (Killer) Robertson Caldwell, DFC and bar, DSO, commanding officer of No. 80 Fighter Wing, in the cockpit of his Spitfire Mk VIIIC aircraft. Note the tally of aircraft shot down painted on the fuselage. Caldwell was Australia's leading fighter ace of World War 2.
