Tadji, New Guinea. c. 1944. The crew of Department of Aircraft Production (DAP) Beaufort bomber A9-557, 100 Squadron RAAF, playing a game of cards in at night. Left to right: unknown (part obscured), 422062 Flying Officer (FO) F. O. Smith, 415636 Flight Lieutenant Harry John "Jack" Fowler, inidentified. Fowler and Smith were killed on 1945-03-13 when a defective bomb fuse caused a premature explosion during a bombing run in their aircraft Beaufort A9-650. (Donor: D. Fowler)
