Description

Canadian instructor discusses Greek social structures with platoon inside classroom. Outside, Canadian Warrant Officer instructor set scene for instructional demonstration of probable encounters with conflicting sides on a demarkation line. United Nations flag on a simulated outpost on Nicosia's "Green Line". UN sentry, Australian Sergeant Ronald Webb of Holsworthy, NSW, approaches and talks to sentry. Platoon observes Canadian Corporal explaining his actions. Brigadier Simkin, Australian Defence Adviser to Canada arrives with Canadian Captain instructor and Second-Lieutenant Ronald Mancell of Lismore, NSW, commander of the platoon. Rifleman in third-storey window, portraying one of the belligerents on either side of the demarkation line. The platoon is cautioned that this is the type of thing a UN sentry lives with every day. Canadian Sergeant explains the duties of a sentry. Brigadier Simkin and party discussing the training.
