Iwakuni, Japan, c. 1951-01. The reception area of the Transit Hotel at the RAAF Base at Iwakuni. At right, Private K. Bennett of the Royal Ulster Rifles sits in an easy chair and reads a magazine. He is probably on leave from service in Korea. Behind him, a sailor attends to some business at the counter where a Japanese receptionist is on duty. Two Japanese maids are at right rear. The sign over the counter reads: 'Watch Repairs D.P.E.' (Donor I. Robertson)
