Description
Informal group portrait including NX35784 Private Allen Charles Page from Harden, NSW (captured by the Japanese in Singapore and held as a POW until recovered at Fukouka, Japan on 19 September 1945) (third from left) and NX36180 Acting Sergeant William George Winter from Wagga Wagga, NSW (later reported missing, presumed killed in action in Malaya on 9 February 1942) (second from right), both of 2/19th Battalion, with some of the local crew from SS Kalang which carried iron ore from the Japanese mine at Bukit Langhap to Singapore.
