1915. Portrait of 6514 Private Clifford Hall, 3rd Australian Field Ambulance. A Tasmanian, Hall enlisted 2 September 1915, and was killed in action at Ypres, Belgium, on 21 October 1917 when the hospital unit for which he was working was accidentally bombarded. Before enlisting, Hall was the President of the United Labourers' Union and consistently condemned the war. (Donor A. Hepworth)
