Informal group portrait of five members of 3 Squadron RAAF standing under the propeller of a Tomahawk fighter aircraft, an early variant of the Kittyhawk. From left to right: 60452 Squadron Leader Peter G Jeffrey (commanding officer), 0376 Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) John R Perrin, 386 Flt Lt Alan C Rawlinson, 481 Pilot Officer (PO) Peter St. G Turnbull and 270530 Pilot Officer Edward H Jackson. PO Turnbull later commanded 76 Squadron RAAF and he was killed on operations during the battle for Milne Bay on 27 August 1942.
