[VE Day, VJ Day and return of troops to Australia from Great Britain]
Description
1. VE (Victory Europe) Day celebrations, London 8 May 1945. Shows Thanksgiving Service at St Paul's Cathedral. Crowds and nearby bombed sites. Close up view of the Royal Carriage passing below. 2. VJ (Victory Japan) Day 15 August 1945. Shows crowds in the Mall and before Buckingham Palace. 3. Troopship SS Durban Castle leaving Southhampton December 1945. Other scenes of the vovage include the Bay of Biscay, Straits of Messina and Suez Canal. Close up shots of the Royal Navy battleship HMS King George V passing northwards.
