Description
Port view of the wooden hulled Uralba tied to Station Pier. In 1942 Uralba was commissioned in the RAN where she operated as a minefield tender and an auxiliary boom defence vessel in Brisbane from December 1942 until June 1944. After this Uralba went to Milne Bay, New Guinea where she was used as a stores carrier until early 1945. Uralba now forms an artificial reef off Mordilloc Pier, Port Phillip, where she was scuttled on 4 November 1971. (Donor Maritime Archaeology Association of Victoria)
