Describes bombardments and strafes from both sides, need for a 'spell', getting a job as an officer's orderly, praises American soldiers in their first action on the British front. It is not known what happened to the missing pages of the original letter, or whether they are still in existence. The typed transcript contains the letter in its entirety.
