Description
Malaya. c. 1960. Members of B Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), preparing to be transported by US Marine helicopters to HMS Bulwark. The Battalion had been on a joint exercise with British and American forces. In the left foreground is 28324 Corporal Brian E. Betts holding a Self Loading Rifle (SLR). In the right foreground is Private Arthur J. Robertson, later killed in South Vietnam while serving with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV). (Donor B. Betts)
