Description
Bavarian Order of Military Merit, 4th Class, with Swords [Hayrisches Verdienstkreuz]. Silver Bath cross enamelled in blue, with silver flames between the arms, and crossed silver swords above to indicate a wartime award. The obverse shows a central black medallion bearing a gold crowned 'L' within a white garter with gold letters 'MERENTI'. The reverse shows a black medallion bearing a gold lion rampant within a white garter bearing the date '1866'. The ribbon is white with pale blue side stripes and narrow white/black/white edges.
