Private issue 'Auscam' pattern camouflage canvas yoke. The yoke is lined with a black blanket type material and has two pockets with velco seals in the chest area.
History / Summary
Associated with 185458 Lance Corporal Shannon McAliney. He was accidentally killed in Somalia on 2 April 1993, whilst on patrol with D Company, 1 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), on Operation Solace. Operation Solace was the Australian Defence Force's main contribution to humanitarian efforts in Somalia in 1992. The operation centred around the deployment of 1RAR Battalion Group to Humanitarian Relief Sector Baidoa in the Southern Central region of Somalia.
