Description
Diamond shaped colour patch, for 18 Battalion, AIF, divided horizontally purple over green, with a brass letter 'A', in the centre, denoting service on the Gallipoli.
History / Summary
Worn by Lieutenant Gladstone John Garland Clayton. He enlisted with the 2nd Reinforcements of 18 Battalion, AIF on 22 May 1915, and was commissioned in January 1917. He was wounded at Hill 60 on Gallipoli, shell shocked at Pozieres on 5 August 1916, and wounded at Bullecourt on 3 May 1917. He was killed in action, at the age of 25, at Villers Bretonneux on 30 July 1918.
