Description
Portrait of 437121 Warrant Officer (WO) Kevin John Dennis, wireless operator with 462 Squadron RAAF, and his wife Olive, at their wedding reception which was held at The Leas and The Royal in St Ames. The reception was organised by Wing Commander "Daddy" Davis, Commanding Officer of the rehabilitation centre which WO Dennis attended. WO Dennis was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal in 1945 for continuing with his duties as a wireless operator until the aircraft had landed, despite being severely wounded in both legs. Only ten of these medals were awarded to the RAAF during the Second World War.
