Description
Letters of NX05655 Gunner Bruce Pendleton Stewart (30th Battery, 2/15th Field Regiment) to his family and friends from Malaya, September-December 1941. The letters, with references to places censored and written in the name of 'MacNab' (Stewart enlisted the previous April as Roy McNab), describe his activities, including construction of trench and wire entanglement defences and his imprisonment as a punishment for being absent without leave (AWOL). He died on the Sandakan march in January 1945.
