Lieutenant Wittmann, a member of a German squadron, probably Bayrische Flieger Abteilung 287 (Bavarian Flying Section 287), stands in front of an LVG C V aircraft No. 7 at Malmaison airfield near Laon. The serial number CV1026 is painted on the tail of the aircraft. Note the tent hangars in the background.
