History / Summary

Worn by Royal Australian Air Force Nursing Sister N223567 Patricia Helen McCullagh. McCullagh (later Cook) joined the RAAF in 1966 and after postings in Australia, served in Vietnam from 24 October 1967 to 30 April 1969. This type of boot was worn by members of the RAAFNS who served on medical evacuation flights from Vietnam to Butterworth in Malaya, the Philippines and Australia, and with the United States Air Force's 902 Air Mobile Evacuation Service to Japan, Korea, and Thailand. GP boots were not worn in-flight by RAAFNS personel but they were worn when stationed on a base.
