An unidentified Australian soldier at a training camp in England, practising a bayonet attack on a dummy stuffed with straw lying on the ground. The soldier is wearing a PH helmet (Phenate Hexamine) which were used by British and Australian soldiers during the First world War to reduce the effects of gas attack.
