Description
Papers relating to Major Edward Vivian Smythe's experiences with the Japanese POWs in Rabaul in 1946. The collection includes a letter Lieutenant Colonel Murayama, the commander of the surrendered Japanese forces (March 1946) and two of Smythe's handwritten reports on illegal acts by Australian soldiers (1946).
