Description

A fatigue party of B Company, 2nd Pioneers, on a road in the recaptured area at Vaulx, carrying their shovels over their shoulders. During their retirement the Germans destroyed the trees along the roads. Identified, front to back: H J Rea; W Donaldson (left); A McManners (right); P Peterkin (this man has also been identified as Private E H Mitchell).
