Portrait of Miss Douska Kahan, of New York, NY (born in Sale, Vic) who served between February 1918 and March 1919 with the American National Red Cross in the Tuberculosis Bureau in Paris, France. Her brother, 1146 Sergeant Henry Kagan 'Harry' Kahan who returned from New York to enlist, served with the 28th Battalion between 24 May 1915 and 28 February 1919, and also wrote the battalion's history.
