Description

The ANZAC Surf Club was the main social venue for members of the Rotary Wing Aviation Unit (RWAU). All members were rostered on for bar duty in between their normal duties of flying, SAR duty, maintaining helicopters and duty crew. The ANZAC Contingent of the Multinational Force and Observers (ACMFO) was made up of Australian and New Zealand personnel which formed the RWAU flying RAAF Helicopters, which provided the airlift capability to the MFO monitoring the Egyptian and Israeli cease fire in the Sinai from 25 April 1982 to the 17 March 1986.
