New years day in the Sinai for the crew of an RAAF Iroquois UH1H helicopter (A2-915), on a resupply mission to an observation position manned by soldiers of the Colombian battalion. The crew left to right unknown pilot, A225883 Sergeant (Air) (Sgt (Air)) Peter J. O'Brien RAAF Loadmaster, O231840 Flying Officer (FO) David R. Chaplin Pilot. The ANZAC Contingent of the Multinational Force and Observers (ACMFO) was made up of Australian and New Zealand personnel which formed the Rotary Wing Aviation Unit (RWAU), flying RAAF Helicopters, which provided the airlift capability to the MFO monitoring the Egyptian and Israeli cease fire in the Sinai from 25 April 1982 to the 17 March 1986.
