Description

Troops of the 51st Battalion in newly made trenches near Lavieville. This line formed a portion of the apex of the vast salient created by the enemy's supreme effort to take Amiens, and sever the two Armies. Identified front to back: 2703 Private (Pte) Joseph Stanley Pethybridge (killed in action 25 April 1918); 3934 Lance Corporal William Henry Saunders; 1960 Pte William Langdon; 3124 Pte William Thompson; 2285 Pte Thomas Theo Curtis; 2628A Pte Albert Badger.
