3 CER East Timor January 2000

The Maliana Markets, East Timor January 2000. The markets were built by the local people using 3 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) materials and advice from senior sappers, Sapper (Spr) Marsh and Spr Tanner from 16 TP 18 Fd Squadron. The Maliana school built by 16 TP's Corporal (Cpl) Bray's section and Cpl Hand's section with 3 CER stores and technical advice and help from the tradesmen from 25 Support Squadron. Vehicle was point. The level of the river rose and fell during the afternoon showers that arrived consistently during the latter stages of the tour. All tasks were contrived with the help from UN and the timless work from the Intelligence Officer Captain Sanders.
