Lieutenant Colonel D. T. Moore CMG DSO, Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, AIF (on the platform) and Lieutenant C. O. Clark MC MM, Battalion Intelligence Officer (beside the broken barrel) of the 15 inch naval gun taken by a Company of the 3rd Battalion in a bayonet attack, at Arcy Wood, near Chuignolles, during the advance of the Australian troops in this vicinity on 23 August 1918. The gun had been wrecked either by accident or designed explosion.
