Description
A view of Fritz's Folly, the front line, Somme winter. A sunken road forming part of the German front line on the sector attacked by the 1st and 3rd Battalions on the night of 4 November 1916. The attack, made in the mud, failed. The position, subsequently abandoned by the Germans, eventually became a part of the Australian front line.
