Description
Looking over old German wire entanglements towards the village of Hermies (beyond Doignies and near the Hindenburg Line), though possessing strong defences, was siezed during the morning of 9 April, by a surprise attack of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions from the flanks. Some of the German defences can be seen in the foreground.
