Description
Looking over the brick kiln at Zonnebeke, in the Ypres Sector. Showing the ruins of Zonnebeke Church in the rear. The brick kiln was the German objective on the morning of the Australian attack on 4 October, when the opposing forces met in 'no man's land', and our troops not only broke the enemy assault, but brilliantly exploited their success by an advance covering a large and strongly held area.
