Members of the 22nd Battalion, mostly C Company men who had just come out of the Ville-sur-Ancre attack enjoying relaxation playing 'two up', a popular gambling game amongst the Australian troops. The photograph was taken at the moment two pennies were tossed in the air, and the players were watching the 'spin'.
