Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 1915. Kilid Bahr Plateau, Olive Grove, Achi Baba and Helles seen from the sea, are here shown in the order named from the left. It was from Olive Grove that "Beachy Bill," a big Turkish gun, used to harass our shipping. This gun was afterwards bombarded by the warships and silenced for a time.
