Description
A Felixstowe F2A flying boat being fitting with a bomb by ground crew. Production commenced in late 1917 and by the end of the war some 100 had been built. Fitted with two 345 hp Rolls Royce Eagle VIII engines. Post war, the F2A was converted to F5 configuration. Renowned for their long range capacity (as long as 9½ hours) and dual control. Used extensively and successfully by the Royal Naval Air Service in long range anti submarine and anti Zeppelin patrols.
