Description
Part of the temporary Australian War Memorial Museum, in the Exhibition Buildings in Sydney, NSW, seen from the South Gallery, showing the De Havilland DH9 of Parer and MacIntosh on the left hand side, and a Fairey IIID Serial A103 in the foreground with Vimy, Albatros D.5A and Pfalz D.XII in the background. The Fairey Floatplane was flown by Goebel on the first flight to circumnavigate Australia.
The large framed photograph, third from the left on the left wall, is a print of North Beach. It was originally displayed at the Grafton Galleries exhibition of Australian war art and photographs in 1918. A glass copy negative of the image is held by the Memorial at G00592 while a smaller original print is held at P11508.001.
