McConnel, Kenneth Hamlyn
Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant (Lt) Kenneth Hamlyn McConnel, 1st Battalion AIF. Includes Lt McConnel's original handwritten diary kept from March to August 1916 which includes a platoon nominal roll, typed memoirs of the war experiences of Lt K.H McConnel from 1914-1918 written in 1924, typed copies of messages sent and received by Lt McConnel during operations in Ypres Salient, September 1917, typed copies of messages sent to 1st Battalion by Lt McConnel, liaison officer with French Forces, Meteren during April - May 1918, typed copies of three letters received by Lt McConnel in 1916 whilst in hospital recovery from wounds. The letters were written by Major P. Howell-Price and 830 Corporal David Golding, who both served with the 1st Battalion.
