Serjeant, Charles Court (Sergeant, b.1892 - d.1918)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 2429 Sergeant Charles Court Serjeant, 14 Battalion, Gallipoli and France. Collection consists of 45 letter handwritten letters sent by Serjeant to his family at home. They cover the period July 1915 to August 1918 and were written from Australia, Egypt, Gallipoli, England and France. Also included is a newspaper obituary and a condolence letter written by a fellow soldier. Serjeant was killed on 18 September 1918 while fighting on the Hindenburg line.
