Wilton, Mona Margaret (b.1913 - d.1942)
Collection relating to the Second World War service of Sister (Lieutenant) Mona Margaret Wilton, 2/13 Australian General Hospital, Johore, Singapore, Australia, 1941-45. Sister Wilton was killed by Japanese troops on Banka Island.

Folder 1 contains 5 letters and one partial letter from Sister Wilton, dated between 29 October 1941 and 10 February 1942. Also includes: a note from NX24961 Corporal Ralph H Parkes to Mrs Wilton (Sister Wilton's mother) dated 22 May 1942; two telegrams from Sister Wilton dated 12 and 30 January 1942 reassuring her family that she was safe and well; and a Christmas greetings card from 13 AGH AIF abroad, Xmas 1941, signed by Sister Wilton and addressed to Mrs Stokes.
Folder 2 contains two letters from Australian Military Force - Victoria Line of Communication Area to Mr Frederick R Wilton regarding the fate of his daughter, dated 2 June 1944 and 12 January 1945, and a typed transcript of a similar letter [undated].
Folder 3 contains a handwritten note from Wilma Oram on her release from captivity, a photograph of a group of nurses including Wilma Oram, a handmade card from 'Betty', and a newspaper clipping relating to Sister Wilton's death.
