Hutchinson, Eric Lloyd (Major, b.1883 - d.1971)
Collection relating to the First World War service of Major Eric Lloyd Hutchinson DSO, Australian Army Medical Corps [AAMC]. Collection consists of a 128 page typescript diary dated 26 June 1915 to 3 October 1919. It contains detailed entries on action on Gallipoli and on the Western Front in France and Belgium. Also included is black and white photographs of Hutchinson; an typed extract from a letterwritten by Arnold R Treacher, 20 Battalion on 12 May 1916 to a friend in Sydney (which mentions Hutchinson); a map of the Chaulnes-Lassigny Front (taken from a newspaper); two photocopies of his Mention in Despatches dated November 1917 and April 1918; a photocopy of his commission to the rank of Major, dated December1917; two photocopies of his marriage certificate; and a photocopy of permission for the marriage to take place from the Vicar General's Office; a draft handwritten and typed copy of a 'Report on Lockhart Mission epidemic, 1943'; and handwritten biographical notes.
