Collection relating to the Boxer Uprising service of the Victorian Naval Contingent, Victoria, 23 March 1901.
Item 1 of 1 - Contains an embellished copy of a confidential report titled "Victorian Naval Contingent - Highly Praised" presented to the Premier of Victoria Alexander James Peacock. Written by Major General Lorne Campbell, General Officer Commanding Lines of Communication, China Field Force, and endorsed by Lieutenant General Sir Alfred Gaselee, Commanding the British Contingent, China Field Force, the report lauds the service of the Victorian Naval Contingent at the Boxer Uprising and references several operations including the advance on the Pie Tang Forts, the Pao-ting Fu Expedition and policing the city of Tientsin. The report also specifically acknowledges the service of Captain Frederick Tickell and Staff Surgeon Charles Alfred Stewart.
