Collection relating to the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) and United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) service of 237638 Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Hector Lofts, Australian Army, 1940-1963.
Wallet 1 of 1 - consists of two folders of material collected by Lofts on the Second World War and on United Nations operations in the Middle East.
Folder 1 of 2 - includes a translation and copy of the Japanese "List of the Progress of Naval Operations in the Great East Asian War (From 20 April 1942 to 15 April 1943". The translation was received by then Captain Loft during his service as Command Commandant, Ebisu, as part of the BCOF in Japan.
Folder 2 of 2 - consists of material related to Lofts' service with the UNTSO from 1960 to 1963. The folder includes copies of the United Nations Security Council Official Records Fourth Year Special Supplement No. 2, a booklet on the United Nations Emergency Force that served in the Middle East from 1956 to 1967 in the wake of the Suez Crisis, a booklet on the UNTSO Loft received during his service in 1960, which includes details on the background, history, mission and security situation for the organisation, and a copy of the speech delivered by King Hussein of Jordan on Independence and Army Day on 25 May 1962.
