Description
Collection relating to service of Lieutenant Vincent Charles Callen MM, 34 Battalion. Collection includes a photocopy of a publication of Callen's letters written home to his family in Newcastle, NSW. Copy made by Australian War Memorial in 1928 from a published volume of the original letters provided by the Callen family. According to file AWM93 0012/0011/0654, Callen's mother had arranged a private publication of Callen's letters. Location of originals and the location of an original printed version are unknown.

Biographical note: Lieutenant Vincent Charles Callen, MM, 34 Battalion, Australian Infantry. Killed in action 20 August 1918. Age 29. Son of Michael and Ellen Callen, of Salopia, Stockton, Newcastle, New South Wales.
